Gordon Stokoe Bio        

Gordon Stokoe Architect was established in 1998. Prior to opening his own firm, Gordon Stokoe was employed in architectural offices in Nova Scotia and Ottawa. Over a 12-year period, he was involved in a wide variety of residential, commercial and institutional projects, including the Hopewell Avenue School addition [see below], Ottawa, and the Nova Institution for Women in Truro, Nova Scotia. Gordon holds a degree in fine arts (BFA, Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax), a professional architectural degree (BArch, Technical University of NS, now part of Dalhousie University, Halifax) and a post-graduate architectural degree on residential urban design. (MArch, University of Toronto).

Throughout Gordon's professional education and working career, residential design has been his primary interest. He recognizes the rich relationships we have with our homes, through our senses, our associations and our everyday practices, and his design seeks to support and intensify that relationship.
